If you’re looking to live independently and want the security and comfort of being part of a safe and welcoming community, then Eden Park has what you need. Our independent homes are comprised of 21 garden cottages and 25 face-brick houses all set in the beautiful gardens across our 4-acre property.

Secure your home through life rights

All of our Independent Living homes are sold on the basis of Life Rights, the easiest and most affordable way to enter a retirement village and secure your retirement accommodation for life.

These can be purchased one of two ways, either as a one-time capital payment of the total amount, or in monthly instalments over a period of years. Either way, securing a Life Right is your best long term option to give you peace of mind.

How to secure your Life Rights with us:

OPTION 1: CAPITAL PAYMENT

What does this mean?

This means you pay the total purchase price amount upfront, thereafter you only pay a monthly levy.

Is this best for me?

If you wish to invest the full amount upfront and have the means to secure your Life Rights straight away, then this option will indeed save you money over time and secure your home in full. Thereafter, only monthly levies will be payable, helping to make your financial future more manageable.

OPTION 2: MONTHLY INSTALMENTS

What does this mean?

This means you pay a monthly sum over a period of years that is determined by your age upon signing. The amount paid monthly is comprised of the Life Right instalment, plus the levy until such time as the Life Right is paid in full. Thereafter, only the levy will be payable each month, equal to the amount paid by capital investment residents.

Is this best for me?

If perhaps you do not wish or are unable to invest a large capital amount upfront, but have income that allows you to pay off your Life Rights over a number of years, this may fit you best. Once you’ve paid off your Life Rights, it is your home for life. Unlike renting, you have a guaranteed end date for paying off your home.

Face-brick units

Our beautiful face-brick houses are available in three options (bachelor, one and two-bedroom units with optional garages). They are surrounded by well cared for gardens and are in close proximity to all important amenities such as hospitals, doctors’ rooms, shops and the like.

Ranging from 28m2 – 57m2, each of our North-facing face-brick houses enjoys a:

● Private entrance, with compact garden and patio
● Sunny open-plan lounge and kitchen
● Bachelor, one-bedroom or two-bedroom layout
● En-suite bathroom (complete with spacious shower and support rail).

Independent Living

Garden Cottages

There are 20 x 2 bedroom garden cottages, averaging 59sqm, 3 x 1 bedroom garden cottages, averaging 54sqm, as well as a 3-bedroom garden cottage of 97sqm. Our garden cottages offer the least expensive retirement option.

Participation in activities and maintaining our beautiful surroundings instill a sense of community. Neighbours look out for each other.

Village life

Independent residents have a host of facilities available to them, including weekly shopping trips, indoor/outdoor games, such as darts, pool and board games, as well as bowls (pétanque), a braai area and outdoor tables and chairs. We encourage everyone to come together as often as possible, and enjoy everything Eden Park has on offer, from playing competitive games to cheering big sporting matches in our communal lounge. We really love a good gathering.

Do I qualify for independent living?

Independent residents are mentally and physically capable of living alone. They are able to manage their health and need no additional nursing care or assistance with daily living.

On application, our head nurse will conduct an assessment which, together with a medical report from your doctor, will determine whether independent living is the best option for you.
